Will Love (b. 2002 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne) is a visual artist and sculptor based in London. Targets is an exhibition of playful objects, made to challenge our sensory understanding of what we might aim for: objects of desire, dream locations, or life goals.
By altering colour, weight, viscosity, the play of light, and distance, Love extends the disconnect between the items of desire and the image of such things in the mind. Making objects, for Love, is a form of predaciousness, the stimulation needed for creativity at a time of increasing sedation. By restructuring the gallery space into a psychological landscape of pursuit, his materially engaged practice allows the viewer to explore the logic of the hunt. Love’s disruption of both the act and objects of targeting, offers a critical rupture in the contemporary debates that surround us.
Holding a BA in Sculpture from Camberwell College of Arts (2025), Love translates digital CAD designs through traditional object-making practices - gilding, casting, welding - with base materials - steel, concrete, OSB, soap, plastics, bitumen.
"Targets" will be displayed alongside our exhibitions of the works of Cas Campbell and Carel de Nerée tot Babberich.
