On display now Art on paper since 1960 the Hamish Parker collection at the British Museum.
An exhibition with over 100 prints and drawings, all of which were donated to the museum by Hamish Parker, spanning the period 1960 to the present day.
Among the notable works on show, including by Lucien Freud, Kiki Smith and Pablo Picasso (the only pre-1960 inclusion), is Breakdown, 2014-6, by British artist Neil Gall.
This highly detailed drawing is based on one of the models Gall makes from everyday objects bound with tape, plastic and glue.
These models featured in our 2021 exhibition with Neil Gall, 'Bozzetti' for which Gall said:
"One might think there is a kind of crudity to these works …ok they are not the highly skilled works of virtuosity that people might ascribe to my art but here at the very beginning of the process where everything is laid bare and there is no technique to hide behind, these raw facts are the key to my practice".
Neil Gall's work will also be featured in our exhibition at Andrieskapel in Maastricht alongside TEFAF this year.
