18 Cecil Court, WC2N  4HE, London

Join us for an evening with artists Magda Blasinska and Adia Wahid in conversation with curator Elisabetta Bresciani, on the crafts heritage which undergird the works of both artists, and of Patterns of Harmony as a whole.

Magda Blasinska (b. 1983, Poland; based in London) is a painter whose work is guided by sensory experiences, memory, and intuition. Reflecting her humble upbringing, Blasinska uses a limited, earthy colour palette and marginal materials, drawing on agricultural and folk heritage. In Patterns of Harmony, she reflects on the rhythmic and structural patterns underlying woven surfaces, while

Adia Wahid (b. 1971, Pakistan; based in London) is an artist who describes herself as being absorbed within discrete histories and coding systems such as carpet and textile weaving, writing tablets, mathematical syntax, computing, and painting. In Patterns of Harmony she explores architectural memory through shifting geometric forms inspired by Islamic art.

Works by both artists are on display in our current exhibition, Patterns of Harmony.
