18 Cecil Court - Figuren

Emanuel von Baeyer Gallery hosts a drinks reception and artist talk for the launch of our new exhibition Figuren, to coincide with the opening of Frieze London and Frieze Masters.

Spanning the artistic oeuvres of three generations, Figuren represents the best in modern and contemporary figurative art - in painting, drawing, prints, and sculpture. The drinks reception for the launch will be accompanied by a conversation among exhibited artists, including Neil Gall, James Lang, Fitzroy Schofield, Richard Stipl, and Nicole Wassall.

Figuren will be a show of firsts. It will be the UK debut for leading Czech sculptor Richard Stipl, and the for German Neo-Expressionist Franz Hitzler. Martin Assig's Frida Kahlo Kleid, a major work, shall be shown in London for the first time, (alongside a rare etched portrait of Kahlo by her contemporary Margaret Bruton). Likewise, Kate McCrickard's series of three large-scale paintings allegorising the visual arts will be (for the very first time) united and displayed together.
