Emanuel von Baeyer Gallery presents a temporary dispaly on the photographic works of William Wauer (1866 Oberwiesenthal - 1962 Berlin).
The total elimination of colour and fixed perspective implemented by the photographer offer a drastically different visual experience to the artist's original (produced from 1919-1950s).
This exhibition will highlight the transition of these vintage prints from serving as simple documents, to independent artworks in themselves.
During Photo London 2025 (15th - 18th May) a selection of these photographs will be on display at our gallery space, alongside works by Christian Megert (b.1939 in Berne), Pablo Picasso (1881 Málaga - 1973 Mougins), Richard Prince (b.1949 in Panama) and Jan Schoonhoven (1914 - Delft - 1994).
