Kate McCrickard Exhibitions and Events
Kate McCrickard is a Paris-based painter, printmaker, and writer. Her work explores contemporary figurative imagery, drawing on the rhythms of daily life.
She holds an MA in Fine Art from the University of Edinburgh, where she received the John Kinross Scholarship, MacLean Watters Medal, and the Sir John Ford Travel Scholarship, and a BTEC Diploma from Bradford College of Art. Early in her career, she co-curated a William Kentridge print exhibition at the Edinburgh Festival (2007) and produced prints with Master Printer Jillian Ross, later shown in her first solo exhibition at DKP New York, Kid (2012). Her second solo show, This is my proper ground (2015), included paintings, cardboard works, and sketchbook drawings.
Her work is held in major collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, The British Museum, LACMA, Wesleyan University, and the Royal Scottish Academy. As a writer, she has contributed to Art in Print, Print Quarterly, Art South Africa, and catalogues for Hayward Touring, Thames & Hudson, and the Royal Scottish Academy.
