Rudolph Taylor Exhibitions and Events

Taylor, Rudolph

Rudolph Taylor is an artist printmaker whose work expands on how classical representation can be used to reflect today’s global and multicultural world.

He works with archives, collage, and drawing to reinterpret classical Western art. By mixing bodies, clothing, and objects from different times and places, he explores the complexity of being multiracial and creates space for multifaceted identities.

Taylor uses lithography to reference the history of print reproduction but manipulates images to create scenes outside of their original context. From a distance, his work may seem familiar, but closer inspection revelooals its complexity.

Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Taylor received his BFA from Syracuse University in 2019 and completed the Tamarind Printer Training Program in 2022. He has worked as a collaborative printmaker at Paulson Fontaine Press, taught lithography at Kala Institute and California College of Art, and recently graduated with an MA in Print at the Royal College of Art.
