Dasha Shishkin Exhibitions and Events

Shishkin, Dasha

Dasha Shishkin (b. 1977, Moscow) is a New York–based artist known for her vivid, psychologically charged works rendered in acrylic, gouache, pastel, conté crayon, graphite, ink, and etching.

Often working on transparent mylar, painting on both sides of the film, Shishkin creates layered, dreamlike compositions that blur the line between the playful and the unsettling.

After immigrating to New York as a teenager, she studied at Parsons School of Design and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, later earning her MFA from Columbia University (2006).

Shishkin has exhibited internationally, including at MoMA PS1 and the Museum of Modern Art, New York and Kunsthalle Hamburg. Her works are held in major public collections such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, as well as the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
