Scène de Crime (2018). Linocut. 215 x 285 cm. Edition of 10.
This piece showcases her innovative approach to linocut printmaking. Inspired by early 20th-century legal photographs, this striking work was carved directly into the original linoleum floor of her workshop. Ariane describes it as a self-portrait and a mise en abyme of her artistic process, inviting viewers to engage with the layers of meaning embedded in her work.
The artist often explores themes of memory, identity, and the intricate relationship between the observer and the observed. Through her distinctive style and meticulous attention to detail, she challenges us to reconsider our perceptions of reality and the narratives we construct around them.
