Neil Gall Exhibitions and Events
Neil Gall (b. 1967 in Aberdeen, Scotland) lives and works in London. He studied at the Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen and the Slade School of Art in London.
In a recent interview with Emanuel von Baeyer, Neil Gall discusses his latest lithograph series, Materials for Reasoning.
Neil shares, “I’m less sensitive to the initial reactions that focus on illusion. If it leads to a deeper understanding, that’s fantastic. I’m thrilled when viewers investigate more fully.”
His journey into lithography has been transformative: “Working directly on aluminium plates felt more attuned than my past experiences. Each piece becomes a unique interpretation, far removed from the original objects.”
With his works featured in prestigious collections, including the British Museum, Neil is making waves internationally. He expresses his admiration for Old Masters like Poussin, saying, “I love the idea of models made for compositions—there’s a clinical precision that captivates me.”
