This catalogue of nineteenth-century German prints and drawings presents prints in various techniques and includes numerous proof impressions and early states, as well as drawings and watercolours of the Romantic period. It features examples by some of the major representatives of the German ‘Nazarenes’, of the Biedermeier and of German artists active in Rome, such as Carl Friedrich von Rumohr, Peter von Cornelius and Theodor Rehbenitz. This catalogue has contributed to the renewed interest in nineteenth-century German graphic art among private collectors and public institutions in recent years.
