LITERATURE
B.35;
Boorsch/Lewis 18 (Ia/III).

Extraordinary impression in deep black and precisely printed from the very first state before the crack below the right foot of the standing putto (Lewis Ia) and the watermark of P. Pricard with shield as wished for that state. Trimmed on the platemark. A tear left and a small old replacement area below and between the foot of Venus. The design is traditionally attributed to Perino del Vaga, although the source remains unknown.
